A better family life

You only appreciate the value of something after you have lost it. I value family life and I am taking this opportunity to say kudos to all fathers/husbands out there who are doing such an amazing job at home. A man’s life is supposed to be a balance between work, family, and other activities. Unfortunately, our society today shows regrettable indicators of how our job can sometimes be the downfall of our family. How do we overcome this? I am glad that you asked:)

Being a father/husband is a noble function that involves providing for our loved one’s needs and I truly respect that. My fellow brother, I beg you whatever your hand finds to do within the parameter of integrity and good morals do it with all your heart, with the mind and vision to take care of your family. On the other hand, I just want to trigger the alarm that you have to also make time for your kids and especially your wife. Make sure that you are giving them quality time. Always take your vacation and some days off to celebrate with them; these are the reasons why you go out each day and go get that check. Don’t you dare think that you are irreplaceable, of course, you are! Regardless of how smart you are or how committed you can be to a company; from the gatekeeper to the chief executive and managers etc… all of you are just a number that can be replaced.

I heard a sad story about a person named John who always bragged about how the company he works for can’t be successful without him. Yes, he is a great manager and by far always supersede the company’s expectations by meeting KPI’s. John died in his early 40s leaving a wife and two kids behind. Guess what? Corporate hired another manager one week right after his death. Families, let me tell you that death is the final proof that everyone is expendable. Can anybody remember those who opposed communism in the Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe and thought it was unconquerable, but right after the wall of Berlin fell, the Soviet Union was also dissolved. What life lesson do we get from this? Nothing is eternal on this earth.
Please spend time with your family and enjoy this beautiful life, it’s God’s gift because: ”What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun”. You are replaceable.
